Why Do You Work at Stamped?

I recently sat down with Jonathan, our engineering team lead, and Alex, our customer experience manager in British Columbia, and asked them a simple question: Why do you work at Stamped? Here’s what they had to say.

Jonathan Rochette (Software Engineer)

The main thing that immediately appealed to me when I was told about the job at Stamped is the closeness between team members. At my previous job at LogMeIn, I think we were over 5,000 or 6,000 employees and probably 2,000 software engineers or more. When you work at a company that large, you end up feeling like a small fish in the ocean.

I wouldn’t say the accounting side of Stamped appealed to me in the beginning, as it was something I didn’t really know much about as a software developer. But when Simon told me about his concept of automating the accounting process, I was immediately excited. It’s not so much the subject we’re addressing that interests me, but rather the technical challenge of creating something tangible and concrete.

Alex Dundas (Accountant)

Before working at Stamped, my accounting career was taking a completely different direction. I was working at a regional firm in Vancouver as an auditor. Then, while presenting a project at the CPA Canada NPO forum, I met Simon and we immediately clicked.

We started talking about different trends in accounting. At the time, Simon was one of the only people talking about the concept of continuous auditing. His energy and desire to advance the industry immediately interested me. Integrating artificial intelligence into the traditional audit process really made me realize that our field is likely to change over the next 10 years.

As you can see, Stamped is not your typical workplace. Ambition and curiosity guide our daily efforts.
