Accounting Standards

Accounting standards are a set of rules for recognition, classification, measurement and presentation imposed by a country’s accounting authority (the standard setter). Accounting standards differ from tax rules. In Canada, the main accounting standards used are International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (NCCECF).
